Two men were injured in a truck crash at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, June 9, on U.S. 24 five miles west of Quincy, Ill.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Todd L. Beatty, 52, of Geary, Okla., was driving an eastbound 2006 Ford F150 when it went off the right side of the highway and hit a light post.

Beatty suffered moderate injuries, and his passenger, Jeffery T. Smith, 32, of Hoopeston, Ill., suffered serious injuries. Both were wearing seat belts.

They went by Marion County ambulances to Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

The State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Palmyra Fire Department and Marion County Sheriff's Department.
