One person was seriously injured in a Thursday morning crash in Pike County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 11:30 a.m. June 7 on Route D, north of Route H.

A 1995 Chevrolet Blazer was being driven southbound by 82-year-old Thomas C. Sitton of Eolia. When Sitton failed to maintain control of the vehicle it crossed into the northbound lane before traveling off the east edge of the roadway where it struck a tree. The vehicle continued on and struck a second tree which caused the vehicle to overturn.

Sitton, who was not wearing a safety device, was flown to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.
