Heath Hall, after a tenure as interim general manager, selects top spot at Hannibal utility
The Hannibal Board of Public Works' search for a new general manager has ended. The board has decided to hire an internal candidate tasked my managing the municipal utility responsible for providing electric, water, sewer, stormwater, and other services to Hannibal residents.
Heath Hall, HBPW director of operations and interim general manager, has accepted the permanent position as General Manager. Hall has been the interim general manager since the retirement of Bob Stevenson earlier in 2018.
The BPW Board selected Hall during a closed session on May 15.
Hall has been with the utility since 2001, where he has been the Director of Operations for the past 11 years, and was the water treatment plant and wastewater treatment plant facilities engineer for six years. Hall will now be responsible for the overall mission, management, and administration of the Hannibal Municipal Utility System in accordance with the City of Hannibal’s policies, ordinances, rules, and regulations, as well as federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Hall will also oversee a major conversion in the utility's water treatment method. A new granular activated carbon treatment facility is expected to open by the spring of 2020.
