A large amount of a substance testing positive for methamphetamine was seized from the residence along with numerous items of drug paraphernalia.

Two Hannibal women are facing felony charges following a Tuesday operation by the Hannibal Police Department.

On Tuesday, April 24, officers assigned to the Anti-Crime Enforcement Squad (ACES) executed a search warrant at 1812 Broadway in Hannibal. According to HPD, a large amount of a substance testing positive for methamphetamine was seized from the residence along with numerous items of drug paraphernalia and a small amount of substance believed to be heroin.

The following subjects were arrested as a result of the investigation:

• Christie L, Cox, 31, of Hannibal, charged with delivery of a controlled substance, a Class C felony. $50,000 bond, arraignment Friday, April 27

• Shawna A Brothers, 22, of Hannibal, charged with delivery of a controlled substance, a Class C felony. $50,000 bond, arraignment Friday, April 27

Cox and Brothers were placed on 24-hour holds at the Marion County Jail pending formal review by the Marion County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. They were subsequently charged on Wednesday, April 25. Both are in the Marion County Jail. They face arraignments in Marion County Associate Circuit Court on Friday, April 27. Bonds are set at $50,000 cash or surety.

Two men were also arrested at the scene and held on probation warrants. They had not been charged with any new crimes resulting from the Tuesday search warrant as of Thursday morning. The Courier-Post typically does not identify people arrested, but not charged, with a crime.
