A little winter-like weather failed to stop Bross Construction personnel from removing old street pavement in downtown Hannibal on Monday.

Light, but persistent snowfall Monday morning in Hannibal failed to detour work on the city’s street program.

Even as occasional snowflakes continued to fall, Bross Construction personnel were preparing an area at the intersection of Broadway and Third Street for paving.

Later in the morning work had shifted to Fourth Street, between Center Street and Broadway, where old pavement was being removed by an assortment of equipment.

After a few weeks of delay due to cold and/or wet weather the city’s street program resumed last Wednesday on Lyon Street.

Once work is wrapped up on Lyon Street paving equipment will move across town to the area north of Palmyra Road. After some streets in the area of Hannibal-Lagrange University receive a fresh layer of asphalt, work will shift to the Lake Apollo area.
