Susan Humphreys, a regular volunteer for the Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department, had lots of help on Saturday, April 14.

After planning the flower gardens project at the Cardiff Hill Overlook Park, and she was joined by more than 20 local Girl Scouts, representing several troops.

Despite the rain that began at 9 a.m. as the girls arrived in the park – along with the temperature in the 50s, they were eager to get their jobs done.

Humphreys was prepared with tools, flowers to plant and fertilizer to add to the already blooming daffodils and other flowers.

She had the girls volunteer in groups for the various locations and gardening tasks, then gave them instructions and equipment.
