Hannibal High School faculty and staff members selected one student from each grade level for Student of the Month honors for the month of March.

Ninth grade

Spencer Street is the son of Tammy Street. He is a member of River City Revue, performs in HHS musicals and choir and is a member of Teens in Motion. Street plays soccer, and he has received awards for the A Honor Roll, Hannibal Middle School Student of the Month and Kids in Motion Kid of the Year. He said his motivation for academic success is “good grades for scholarships to study in the medical field.” Street was a Tom Sawyer young ambassador for Hannibal from 2016 to 2017. He enjoys fishing, playing soccer and spending time with friends and family. Street's future goals are to maintain good grades and to attend college.

Tenth grade:

Avery Claire Lake is the daughter of Jeremy and Tracy Lake. She is a member of the Clover Road Christian Church Youth Group, and she enjoys playing softball. Lake has been named to the A Honor Roll; she said her motivation for success in school is “my family.” She received MVP honors for Junior Varsity Softball, and Lake enjoys playing softball, hunting and being with her family. She aspires to attend pharmaceutical college.

Eleventh grade:

Josie Mae Zeiger is the daughter of Steven and Tara Zeiger. She is a member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society and Natural Helpers. Zeiger received honors in Academic All-State competitions in 2016 and 2017, and received an All-Conference award for playing second base in softball. She said her motivation for academic success was “to have a good career later in life.” Zeiger hit two home runs in softball during the current season. She enjoys spending time with family, and she plans to attend a “good college and have a job that I enjoy.”

Twelfth grade:

Kaleb Greening is the son of Derek and Shana Greening. He serves as President of the Future Farmers of America group. Greening competes in wrestling, and he received the Dedication to Excellence Award. He credited his motivation for success in school to getting good grades. Greening enjoys hunting, fishing and camping. He aspires to become a history teacher.
