A $10,000 matching grant from the Riedel Foundation will soon bring state-of-the art technology to classrooms at Holy Family School.

Sister Betty Uchytil SSND, principal of Holy Family School, was recently presented a check from April Baldwin and Stevens Plowman, trustees of the Riedel Foundation. The grant was written with the stipulation that it would be awarded as part of a matching grant. Michelle Watts, chairperson of the Holy Family School Auction, was present to confirm the matching amount of $10,000. Cherrie Allen, Holy Family 5th grade teacher and member of the Holy Family Technology Committee, was also present to accept the check.

“The Riedel Foundation is proud to support Holy Family School,” the trustees said.

The grant will help upgrade the school’s current projectors and smartboards to interactive flat panels in designated classrooms. Installation will begin as soon as the school year ends in May.

Sister Betty expressed her gratitude for the support of the Riedel Foundation who helped make the effort possible.

“Holy Family School’s teachers and students will benefit tremendously as we work to keep improving our school’s technology for use in the 21st century,” she said. “We are overwhelmed by The Riedel Foundation’s generosity and can assure them that their donation will be put to good use. We are truly blessed to have been awarded this grant.”
