All three were transported by Monroe City ambulances to Hannibal Regional Hospital.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Pennewell was driving a southbound 1997 Dodge Ram one half mile east of Monroe City and was attempting to cross U.S. 36. His truck hit the tow unit of an eastbound 2015 Freightliner driven by Pribble.

Officers said the Pribble truck continued eastbound until the trailer lost its axles and overturned.

The State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Monroe City Police and Fire Departments.
