Board of Education members for the Ralls County R-II School District looked ahead to the next school year with topics like budgeting for a future school resource officer during their regular board meeting.

Board members decided to budget for a future school resource officer for the school district, with members agreeing with administrators that locating the right person for the job was a top priority. A Public Calendar Hearing will take place during the board's March meeting. Students were also honored for their recent achievements.

Board of Education members recognized students for Habit Heroes, Student of the Month, High School Top 10 percent GPA and State Academic Football Team distinctions. Board members also reviewed and approved Student Achievement Data Reports for the current school year.

A Soil Climate Analysis Network (CAN) Weather and Soil Analysis Station will be installed on campus property. The new equipment will gather measurements as a weather station for Northeast Missouri, filling in the need for to gather data in this area.

The Ralls County R-II Board of Education's February and March meetings will take place on the third Thursdays of the month, Thursday, Feb. 15 and Thursday, March 15.
