Hannibal High School has honored the January Students of the Month.

Hannibal High School has honored the January Students of the Month.

They are:

• Ninth Grade - Lainee Sue Kistler, the daughter of Chad and Samantha Kistler, is a member of the Key Club and Student Council. Her sports are dance and track and field.

She has been honored as a Student of the Year. She was a freshman representative for the 2018 winter homecoming. In 2017 she went on a school trip to Washington, D.C.

Her motivation for success in school is “Hard work pays off.” An interesting fact about her is, “I love Jesus.”

Lainee's hobbies are dancing, hunting and watching “The Office.” She plans to become a pediatrician.

• 10th grade – Emme Caroline Dien, the daughter of Rich and Sarah Deien, is a member of the Key Club, Student Council, Natural Helpers and Skills USA.

Her sports are volleyball and basketball. She is motivated for success in school because of her future career and “making my parents proud.”

An interesting fact about Emme is “I love to travel.”

Her hobbies are reading and writing.

Her future goal is to become a pediatrician.

• 11th grade – Delaney S. Cooke, the daughter of Daniel and Dr. Linda Cooke, is a member of FCCLA, NHS, NTHS, the Key Club and RCK.

Her sports are track and volleyball. Delaney is an A Honor Roll student and president of the Junior Class and Key Club.

Her motivations for success in school is her parents and family, and “being a good example to my younger brothers.” An interesting fact about her is she played the lead (Cinderella) in a musical.

Her hobbies are drawing, reading, playing piano and singing. Her goal is to be a doctor and “help those in need by using the gifts I've been given.”

• 12th grade - Meredith Curtis, the daughter of Anthony and Jennifer Curtis, is a member of the Key Club, Student Council and Natural Helpers.

Her honors include membership in the National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society.

Her motivation for success in school is, “My parents push me to do my best every day.”

An interesting fact about her is, “I have an older sister, and I enjoy traveling.” Her hobbies are listening to music, hanging out with friends, reading and drawing.

Her goal is to graduate college with a degree in accounting “and hopefully work for the FDIC someday.”
