Hannibal students traveled to Moberly to audition for a place in the Northeast MO All-District Bands on Nov. 11.

Hannibal students traveled to Moberly to audition for a place in the Northeast MO All-District Bands on Nov. 11.

Seven Hannibal High School students were selected as members of the bands. The top band is the All-District Band and the second band is the Honorable Mention Band. Members making the All-District Band were senior Hannah Laws on trumpet, senior Austin Shulse on trumpet, junior Ryan Deloney on trumpet and sophomore Jacob Bross on percussion.

Making the Honorable Mention Band was senior Caleb Wilson on tuba, junior Justin Hirner on trumpet and junior Levi Goodin on French Horn.

The students participated in a rehearsal on Nov. 11, followed by a six-hour rehearsal on Jan. 13. The concert was held at Moberly High School. The All-District band was conducted by Skip Vandelicht, retired band director of Fayette High School and currently the Director of Bands at Central Methodist University in Fayette.

The Honorable Mention band was conducted by Dr. Dori Waggoner, Associate Professor of Music, Chair-Division of Fine Arts, also at Central Methodist University.
