Archer Daniels Midland Company recently donated $2,500 to the Ralls County R-II School District.

The donation will go toward the purchase of additional Chromebooks at Mark Twain Junior/Senior High to continue technology growth towards a future 1:1 goal for all students.

”We are very appreciative of this generous donation from ADM, they supported our school last year and have supported our school once again. Each donation dollar is spent to purchase additional Chromebooks for our student’s use,” said Dr. Tara Lewis, Superintendent from Ralls County R-II School District.

“The students use Chromebooks each day at school. Through the additional purchases from the ADM donation, more students will be able to use computers in their school work, research, investigations, authentic learning and communication development,” said Mrs. Delores Woodhurst, Mark Twain Junior High Principal and Technology Coordinator.

Ralls County R-II School District serves over 775 students in grades Pre-K through 12th. At the Mark Twain Junior High and Senior High School level, there are 418 students currently enrolled. To date, the district has 175 Chromebooks available daily for student use — this grant will allow the purchase of 21 additional Chromebooks. The grant from ADM allows the school district's inventory to grow by over 12 percent.

The donation was given through ADM Cares. ADM Cares is a social investment program that directs funds to initiatives and organizations that drive meaningful social, economic and environmental progress worldwide. The program comprises three distinct focus areas: supporting the responsible development of agriculture, improving the quality of life in ADM communities and fostering employee giving and volunteer activities.
