Marion County R-II High School has announced candidates for 2017-2018 Homecoming.

Sophomore candidates

Kendra Bemis – Kendra is the daughter of Kristy Smith and Danny Bemis.  She is an active member of Varsity club and a member of the varsity cheerleading squad. In her spare time, Kendra enjoys baking.

Lakota Honeycutt – Lakota is the daughter of Dakota Collins and Albert Honeycutt. She is an active member of Varsity club and a member of the varsity cheerleading squad. In her spare time, Lakota enjoys photography and quilting.

Junior candidates

Payton Hays – Payton is the daughter of Nathan and Kenley Hathaway. She is active in varsity basketball, softball, track, and cross country. Payton is a member of the FCA, Key Club, Varsity Club, Art Club, NHS, and FBLA.  She attends Nelsonville Assembly of God church and youth group. In her spare time, Payton enjoys spending time with family and friends and watching Netflix.

Sadie Spratt – Sadie is the daughter of Eric and Lana Spratt.  She is a member of FBLA, Varsity club, FCA, Key club, Art club, Student council, GATE, NHS, and band.  Sadie participates in varsity basketball, track, softball, and cross country. She attends Nelsonville Assembly of God Church and youth group and the Philadelphia Christian Church youth group. In her spare time, Sadie enjoys reading, hanging out with her best friend, Grandma Marilyn; and Eating at Happy China and El Nopal with Ty.

Senior candidates

Amy Blair – Amy is the daughter of Bob and Janet Blair.  She is President of Art Club, President of FCA, President of Key Club, Vice president of NHS, and a member of Student council. Amy participates in varsity cross county and is cheerleading co-captain. In her spare time, Amy enjoys quilting, spending time with Geordan and her mom and dad, and attending youth group at Hester.

Ashten Kaden– Ashten is the daughter of Kristy Smith.  She is a member of FFA, FBLA, Educators Rising, Key Club, Art Club, and Varsity Club.  She is the Cheerleading Co-captain and is the Cross Country Manager. In her spare time, Ashten enjoys cheering, watching netflix, and hanging out with friends.

The Homecoming game is Thursday, Jan. 11, against La Plata, with games starting a 6 p.m. There will be a varsity girls and varsity boys contest with the crowning occurring right after the finish of the varsity boys’ game.  There will also be a dance in the Activity Gym on Friday, Jan. 12, for students grades 7 through 12 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. The cost is $3 a person or $5 a couple.
