Mark E. Myers, Jr., 76, of Hannibal, passed away at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, at Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal.

Mark E. Myers, Jr., 76, of Hannibal, passed away at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, at Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Hannibal. Father Mike Quinn will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.

 

Mark was born July 29, 1941, in Burlington, Iowa, to Mark E. Myers, Sr. and Vivian Goldsberry Myers.

 

He was married to Elizabeth “Betty” Janice McIntyre on July 23, 1960, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Hannibal. She survives.

 

He had three sons, Mark Gregory Myers (Janet), Robert Jay Myers (Karen), and Christopher Alan Myers (Jesse). Mark Gregory’s children are: Matt Crume (Stefanie), Levi Shinn (Emily), Tiffany Shinn, Jeremy Myers (Savanna), Ellie Allen, and Kolton Myers. Mark Gregory’s grandchildren are Aidan Crume, Mattison Crume, Alexander Shinn, and Wyatt Myers. Robert Jay’s children are Zachary Myers and Jack Myers. Christopher Alan’s children are Eliot and Eli Myers. Mark Gregory precedes him in death.

 

Mark had one brother, John Edward Myers (Tillie Allen); and two sisters, Patricia Slough (Dean), and Judith Constable (Mike). His nephews and nieces survive. His sister Judith and his brother-in-law Dean preceded him in death.

 

Mark was a graduate of Hannibal High School Class of 1959.

 

Professionally Mark worked as a life insurance agent and underwriter for the Life and Casualty Company and The Reliable Life Insurance Company.

 

Away from work Mark loved to be outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mark especially liked to spend time on the Mississippi River boating and water skiing. A long-time member of the Hannibal Boat Club, Mark held many titles at the club over the years before becoming an emeritus member. Mark was also active in the Hannibal Good Fellows that met regularly at the Hannibal Boat Club. Most of all Mark cherished the time he shared with friends and family. He especially always looked forward to time with his grandchildren.

 

Mark was a Christian by faith.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Association of Kidney Patients, American Heart Association or to the Family of Mark Myers.

Pallbearers will be Matt Crume, Jeremy Myers, Levi Shinn, Zachary Myers, Jack Myers, Les Bowen, Alan Bowen, and Jay Myers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mark's friends at the Hannibal Boat Club.
