A Clarence woman was killed and two Palmyra residents were injured Tuesday afternoon in a one-vehicle mishap in Shelby County.

A Clarence woman was killed and two Palmyra residents were injured Tuesday afternoon in a one-vehicle mishap in Shelby County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the crash happened at 3:17 p.m. Dec. 5 on U.S. 36, one mile east of Shelbina.

A 2003 Honda Accord was being driven east by 23-year-old Keith M. Bond of Palmyra when the car went off the right side of the road and overturned. A passenger, 18-year-old McKenzie R. Craigg of Clarence, was ejected. She was declared dead at the scene by Shelby County coroner Corey Eagan.

Bond and another passenger, 19-year-old Donovan R. Barnes of Palmyra, both suffered moderate injuries.

Bond and Barnes were taken by ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital. Craigg's remains were taken to Greening-Egan-Hayes Funeral Home.

Neither passenger was wearing a safety device when the crash occurred.
