A newly developed, small handicapped parking area and scenic overlook for reflective benches will be cleared of light brush.

The Mark Twain Birth Site Recreational Trail in Florida, Mo., along the scenic bluffs of Mark Twain Lake needs volunteers for a trail project. A newly developed, small handicapped parking area and scenic overlook for reflective benches will be cleared of light brush. The event will be held Saturday, Nov. 11 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Volunteers should bring shovels, wheelbarrows, hand and or chainsaws if available. Release of liability will required from volunteers. Volunteer hours will be eligible for matching reimbursement funds for a Recreational Trail Grant from the Federal Highway Agency. Therefore volunteer efforts and hours are valuable in development of this nature trail available freely to county and world wide visitors to Mark Twain’s birth site.
