Richard "Rick" David Oltman, 58, of Plano, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017. He was born on March 24, 1959, in Hannibal, to the late Richard Harry and Mary (Hatten) Oltman.

Richard "Rick" David Oltman, 58, of Plano, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017. He was born on March 24, 1959, in Hannibal, to the late Richard Harry and Mary (Hatten) Oltman.

Rick was a 1977 graduate of Hannibal High School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music and Film from Western Illinois University. For several years, Rick was employed with Sony Pictures Entertainment. He went on to Bank of America, specializing in customer service for 15 years; and most recently was employed with Toyota.

Rick had three passions in life: music, movies and rollercoasters. He was a member of Local 72-147 of the American Federation of Musicians of the United States. Rick played with a variety of groups, including jazz and classic rock bands in his lifetime, where he played the electric bass and the acoustic stand-up bass. Rick was known for his impeccable voice impressions and even did voice-overs during his employment with Bank of America. For over 20 years, he was a member of ACE (American Coaster Enthusiasts), where he served as the Chair of the Disciplinary Committee. Rick also had a love for all things Disney, as it encompassed his love of music, movie and even rollercoasters (at the theme parks). In addition, he was a life-long, die-hard fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and avidity for living life to its fullest.

In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his sister, Naida Anderson. He will be lovingly missed by his son, Frank Oltman of Plano; daughter, Maryellen Oltman (Cesar Hernandez) of San Jose, Calif.; former wife and friend, Donna Oltman of Plano; companion, Lori Decker of Plano; sisters, Rada Oltman of St. Louis, Kitty Booker of Kirkwood and Robbin (Steve) Miller of Cambria, Calif.; nieces and nephews, Amy Miller (Dalmacio Mones), Ann Miller (David Larson), Robyn Booker, Tim Booker, Valerie (Jim) Duever, Tony (Julie) Anderson, Mary Anderson, Phil Anderson, Jennifer Anderson and Jason (Susan) Utlaut; and his beloved feline friend, Earl Grey.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Richardson, Texas. A private family inurnment will be held at Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, Dallas.
