A two-vehicle collision Wednesday afternoon in Lewis County left both drivers with injuries.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the mishap happened at 3:50 p.m. Oct. 11 on MO 16 and Highway Z.

Both vehicles – a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by 32-year-old Danika N. Wallace of Ewing, and a 1991 Chevrolet S10 pickup, operated by 18-year-old Jason T. Poulter of Canton, Mo. - were westbound when the Jeep slowed to make a left turn and was struck from behind by the Chevrolet.

Poulter, who was not wearing a safety device, was seriously injured. He was flown to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill. Wallace, who was wearing a safety device, sustained minor injuries. She was taken by ambulance to Blessing Hospital.
