The ceremony will be held in the County Commissioners meeting room at the Courthouse in Palmyra.

On Monday, Oct. 16 at 9:30 a.m, the Marion County Commission will honor and recognize Wes McGowan for his eight years of service on the Marion County Planning and Zoning Committee. The ceremony will be held in the County Commissioners meeting room at the Courthouse in Palmyra.

Marion County Presiding Commissioner Lyndon Bode said he was thankful for the work and effort that McGowan did for the Marion County Planning and Zoning Committee over the past eight years.

“We appreciate his volunteering his time to help make Marion County a better place,” Bode said.

The Marion County Planning and Zoning Committee is made up of eight members from the unincorporated areas of the county. One individual from each of the eight townships in Marion County is appointed by the Marion County Commission to serve. McGowan had represented Mason Township which is the Hannibal area of the county. Bridget Bleigh-Bouyea is the new appointee to represent the Mason Township.
