Becky Thomas was enjoying last Tuesday night having dinner with her husband when her raffle ticket was pulled from the tumbler. Her chosen number was “20” and the coordinating envelope contained the eight of Diamonds – not the Jackpot winning Ace of Diamonds but still the “winner” of a check for $100 for participating in the fundraising effort that will ultimately enhance and augment programs in the Monroe City School system. This effort coordinated by the Monroe City R-1 Education Foundation will fund grants to the school system, expanding existing programs and implementing new pathways to learning.

The pot for Tuesday, Oct. 10 was $6,196 and will grow every week until some lucky person hits the jackpot. That translates to $4,647 if the winner is present at the drawing – or $3,717.60 for a winner whose ticket is drawn but is not present at the drawing. The drawing occurs at the Dugout at 6 p.m. drawing
