The Paris Chamber of Commerce and the Paris Senior Center are joining together two traditionally separate autumn celebrations in an effort to strengthen both.

Fall Into Paris and the Great Pumpkin Haul, which have been held close together in the calendar, are being combined in the Great Pumpkin Fall Festival, schedule for Saturday, oct. 14 in downtown Paris.

Profits from the event will be split evenly between the Chamber and the Senior Center.

Garside that splitting the festivals is a risk, but she believes it will help sponsors, merchants and attendees have a more focused experience and not be overloaded by two events within such proximity on the calendar.

“We have a great event planned, and we think this will be successful for the Senior Center and the Chamber,” she said.

There will be a modified pumpkin haul this year, a softball tournament and a chili cookoff, along with entertainment throughout the day.

The organizers have added a what they are calling a Merchant Drawing Give-Away. More than 20 merchants are participating.

To participate, Stevens says that residents need to get a merchant drawing card, at the Paris Area Chamber of Commerce Office.
