Bridge workers were busy earlier his week preparing the new MO 168 bridge in Palmyra for a concrete pour.

The fair and dry weather that has been experienced in recent weeks in northeast Missouri has proven beneficial to workers constructing the new MO 168 bridge in Palmyra.

Reportedly the project is “going well.” The anticipated completion date for the project, which began this summer, remains Nov. 1.

This week workers with the project’s contractor, Lehmen Construction, LLC, have been focused on tying all the steel in preparation for the bridge deck being poured on Friday, Sept. 29.

The concrete pour is expected to start on the structure’s east side and move west over the bridge.

In addition to the bridge, the project includes the creation of a new northbound U.S. 61 acceleration lane.
