The Hannibal Arts Council's October First Friday Art Adventure for children is called Bat-tastic Pumpkin.

It will be from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at the HAC, 105 S. Main St. in Hannibal.

Children ages 6 to 12 are invited to participate.

Each child will create a Halloween-related project using a pumpkin as their canvas and embellishing it with a painted moon and cut-out bats.

The project will be led by members of the HAC Children’s Program Committee, which hosts monthly creative workshops for children.

Registration is required to participate and may be made by calling the HAC at 574-221-6545 or by email at reservations@hannibalarts.com.

The cost is $10 and $5 for each additional child in the family, or $5 for HAC members.

The Art Adventure is being co-sponsored by the George H. Riedel Private Foundation and the Missouri Arts Council, a state agency.
