Three Monroe City residents and a Canton resident sustained moderate injuries in a Lewis County wreck involving an ATV.

The four ATV riders were injured when the vehicle struck a pot hole in the roadway and overturned. Two of the occupants were thrown from the vehicle, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

Jacob Taff, 23, Tracy Gordon, 23, Tanner Whitt, 21, and Kayla Williams, 19, also received moderate injuries. They were taken by Lewis County Ambulance to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill., for treatment. The wreck occurred Monday, Sept. 4, at 7:15 p.m. on Route P near Canton.

According to the report, Whitt and Gordon, both of Monroe City, were not wearing safety devices at the time of the incident.
