The Paris High School Future Farmers of America is a top 10 finalists in a national FFA award.

Chapter adviser John Bondy announced last week that Paris Premier Chapter: Growing Leaders of the Portion of the National Chapter Award.

“We will interview at Nationals to find out if we are fortunate to be selected as the winner,” wrote Bondy on his Facebook page. “This is a dream come true for our chapter. Thank you so much to all officers/members/parents and community members.”

The National FFA organization’s rubric for winning the Growing Leaders Awards criteria include:

Leadership: Activities that help the individual develop technical, human relations and decision-making skills to grow leaders.

Healthy lifestyle: Activities that promote the well-being of students, mentally or physically, in achieving the positive evolution of the whole person

Scholarship: Activities that develop a positive attitude toward lifelong learning experiences.

Personal growth: Activities conducted that improve the identity and self-awareness of members.

Career successes: Activities that promote student involvement and growth through agriculture-related experiences and/or entrepreneurship and promote career readiness.
