When Jon R. Morton, 31, was taken into custody, police allegedly found more drugs on his person.

On Tuesday, Aug. 8, at 10:28 p.m., officers with the Hannibal Police Department located Morton at 3650 Stardust, the Hannibal Walmart Supercenter. Morton was arrested for multiple warrants stemming from narcotic search warrants conducted by the Hannibal Police Department on July 3 in the 2600 block of Carroll and 900 block of Ernest.

During a search of the suspect officers located items consistent with distribution of methamphetamine. As a result of additional investigation, officers later recovered a quantity of what is believed to be methamphetamine consistent with distribution, from the vehicle Morton had driven to the location. Morton was transported to the Marion County Jail and is being held on four active warrants.

New charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia are being sent to the Marion County Prosecutor for review.
