NECAC needs socks.

The agency is accepting donations of new socks in Marion County. The drive began Tuesday, Aug. 1 and ends Saturday, Sept. 30.

So far, one donation box has been set up at Great Clips in Hannibal, but additional collection sites are being arranged in Hannibal and Palmyra.

All sizes and styles are being accepted. The socks will be distributed Thursday, Oct. 19 as part of Project Community Connect, an effort by regional social service and business partners to raise awareness about issues facing homeless people and those with no permanent address in Northeast Missouri.

More information about the effort is available by calling the NECAC Marion County Service Center at 573-221-7166.
