Several area students were bestowed scholarships from the University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources for the 2017-2018 academic year.

Several area students were bestowed scholarships from the University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources for the 2017-2018 academic year.

“Scholarships enable us to recruit and retain academically talented students to our college,” said Bryan Garton, associate dean of academic programs.

Area recipients include:

• Jacob Tracy of Hannibal, has been awarded the Elyzabeth H. Schell Scholarship. 

Tracy, a sophomore majoring in agriculture, is the son of Rory Tracy and Molly Tracy.

• Laine Hays of Monroe City, has been awarded the Elyzabeth H. Schell Scholarship. 

Hays, a junior majoring in agricultural systems management, is the son of Scott Hays and Riss Hays.

• Tanner Nix of Palmyra, has been awarded the Elyzabeth H. Schell Scholarship. 

Nix, a sophomore majoring in hospitality management, is the son of Tammy Nix and David Nix.

• Cooper Sutter of Taylor, has been awarded the Walter W. Kibler Scholarship. 

Sutter, a sophomore majoring in plant sciences, is the son of Roger Sutter and Dianne Sutter.

• Joshua Underhill of Palmyra, has been awarded the Curators Agriculture (Interscholastic Events) Scholarship, the Rex and Mary Campbell Scholarship and the Elyzabeth H. Schell Scholarship. 

Underhill, a freshman, is the son of Jim Underhill and Sheryl Underhill.

• Calen Bailey of Hannibal, has been awarded the Al Kennett Scholarship.

Bailey, a sophomore majoring in animal sciences, is the daughter of Jeffrey Bailey and Jill Bailey.

• John Robinson of Center, has been awarded the Elyzabeth H. Schell Scholarship. 

Robinson, a sophomore majoring in agribusiness management, is the son of John Robinson and Lori Robinson.

• Maygan Huff of New London, has been awarded the Julia Rocheford Scholarship.

Huff, a senior majoring in animal sciences, is the daughter of Monica Huff and Mathew Scott Rutherfod.
