A once-vacant storefront in downtown Hannibal will soon reopen to visitors when America’s Hometown Essentials opens its doors soon.

The business opened its doors at its current location at the corner of Third and Bird Streets in June. Owners Curt and Kim Linderman decided to relocate to the commercial space between Finn’s Food and Spirits and the Hannibal Trolley Company — a short distance from its current location.

The storefront formerly housed Cougar Country Boutique, a clothing store.

Work to move products took place this week. The business remained open much of the week while work on moving inventory continued. The business is expected to reopen at its new location on Saturday.

The store carries a variety of items, including handmade crafts and jewelry, soda, tea, organic juice, water, cigarettes, beer, bandages, pain relievers, candy, toilet paper, dairy, grass-fed beef, free range chicken, and dairy items.

Hannibal Area Chamber of Commerce members, fellow downtown merchants, friends and family gathered to celebrate the grand opening of America’s Hometown Essentials on Friday, June 9.
