Hannibal Board of Public Works personnel were undertaking the repair of a water service line on North Fifth Street Monday morning.

A leaking water service line that feeds the Fifth Street Baptist Church was being repaired by the Hannibal Board of Public Works Monday morning.
According to Gene Majors of the HBPW, water “is leaking and running under the sidewalk and coming out further down by Ann’s Tax Service (at Broadway and North Fifth Street). It took us a bit to locate it last week.”
It was hoped that no sidewalk would need to be disturbed during the repair process.
The repair will likely not take long.
“It should be done today, hopefully before noon,” said Majors. “We’re working with the church. They need their water for study classes, so we’re working around their schedule.”
