Three exhibits will be featured in the Hannibal Arts Council (HAC) galleries from Friday, July 14 through Saturday, Aug. 5.

The exhibits are Three Perspectives, Perspective/Proportion/Pattern and Texture. An Opening Reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 14, at the Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S. Main St. The reception is being hosted by HERS Investment Club with featured beverages from Golden Eagle Distributing. The exhibits are being sponsored by Kyle and Greta Mack, Rita Plowman, Milly Johnson and the Missouri Arts Council.

A wide variety of media will make up the exhibits. For the Three Perspectives exhibit, the Hannibal Arts Council Gallery Committee has invited Ewing painter Debra Scoggin-Myers, Hannibal clay artist Lisa Wiese and Carlinville Ill. figurative artist Karl Warma to share their works. Area artists are invited to submit works for Perspective/Proportion/Pattern. Submitted pieces illustrate and even exaggerate these principles of composition and design. For The Photography Channel, photographers are invited to submit photos that reflect the theme Texture. Submitted photographs highlight texture and patterns, natural or manmade. These photos are displayed on a 3D television in the HAC gallery. For information on submitting works for Perspective/Proportion/Pattern and The Photography Channel, go to Exhibit Opportunities on the Gallery page of the HAC website.

“The HAC Gallery Committee is very excited about the upcoming exhibits in our galleries. We are proud of the fact that we get to spotlight local and area artists on a monthly basis. We are fortunate to be surrounded by talents in so many art forms — visual artists, actors, singers, musicians, writers, etc. For the upcoming exhibits we feature paintings, drawings, clay, and photography in a collection of three exhibits which share the commonalities of perspective, proportion, pattern and texture,” said Michael Gaines, HAC director.

HAC gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Wednesday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. The HAC gallery is closed on Tuesdays and Sundays.
