A Monroe City man suffered moderate injuries Sunday in a one-vehicle crash in Marion County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the mishap happened at 6:50 p.m. July 2 on Route J, 4.3 miles west of Route D.

A 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix was being driven east by 30-year-old Joseph W. Chatfield of Monroe City when the car went off the right side of the road and overturned.

Chatfield who was not wearing a safety device, was transported by Marion County ambulance to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.

Chatfield was cited for driving while intoxicated and for failure to drive on the right half of the roadway.
