The Forget Me Not Center provides a public meeting place and encourages its use for meetings and gatherings of all kinds.
The Forget Me Not Senior Citizens Center, 412 South Main Street in New London, will resume its tradition of meals on Friday, June 30, at noon. The menu will be chicken casserole. The Friday meals are carry ins, so side dishes and desserts are welcome. There is no charge for the meal, but donations are appreciated as the Forget Me Not Senior Citizens are self-sustaining and get no assistance for its operation from the state or federal subsidies.
The Forget Me Nots is a 50lc(4) non-profit organization created in 1976 to benefit the people of New London and the surrounding area. Its purpose is: "To develop and operate a comprehensive program of community service for the senior citizen through recreational and educational activities and to provide the senior citizens of the community with the opportunity to participate creatively in the present and plan for the future and to allow the senior citizens the opportunity to meet and enjoy each other's company and leisure hours."
The outreach includes citizens of all ages in the county and surrounding area. The Forget Me Not Center provides a public meeting place and encourages its use for meetings and gatherings of all kinds.
The Forget Me Nots offer a membership to anyone interested in promoting the interests of the citizens of the county and its annual dues are $5.
