Timothy E. Meyer, 21, of Hannibal, Mo., was flown to the University Hospital after suffering serious injuries in a one-car crash at 10:45 p.m. Friday, June 23, in rural Pike County, Mo.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Meyer was driving a 2001 Ford Taurus on a private road in the Ranacker Conservation Area when he negotiated a curve too fast.

Meyer overcorrected, and the car overturned. It then returned to its wheels, went backward off the right side of the road and hit multiple trees. Meyer was not wearing a seat belt.
