Enthusiasm is growing as supporters of the Monroe City R-1 Educational Foundation watch the weekly Tuesday night drawing at the Dugout Steak House in Monroe City. Entering the raffle is simple. Buy a ticket from at any Monroe City bank or at the Dugout. Tickets are $1 or 6 for $5. Next choose an envelope number (1-54) from the raffle sheet. Write the number and your full name on the ticket. Give it back to the person on duty.

Each Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. a ticket will be drawn from those purchased during that week. When the ticket is drawn, the number on the ticket determines the envelope number to be opened. If the envelope contains the Ace of Diamonds you are the winner. If present you will receive 75 percent of the posted or announced jackpot. Twenty-five percent will be retained by the Foundation. If you are not present and your ticket/name is drawn you will receive 60 percent of the posted amount and 40 percent will be retained by the Foundation to start the next game.

Every week the ticket pulled from the tumbler will be awarded $100. Every week someone is a winner until the Ace of Diamonds is drawn. The June 6 winner was Brian Hawkins. The June 13 winner was Tony Cain. Each took home $100 bringing the Jackpot amount for Tuesday, June 20 to $1,896.

The Monroe City R-I Educational Foundation is committed to the young people of our community and to the enhancement of the educational process.
