Culver-Stockton College’s Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) student chapter has received multiple national recognitions. C-SC has been notified that its IMA chapter has been recognized as a 2016-2017 Award of Excellence Outstanding Student Chapter. The student chapter will receive a plaque and $1,000 award.

The IMA completed required programming including guest speakers, community service projects, company tours, social events, and participating in the Student Leadership Conference, the Clark Johnson Achievement Award and the student scholarship competition. The C-SC IMA Student Chapter has been recognized with the Gold Award for the past consecutive 15 years and has been awarded the Outstanding Student Chapter recognition in 11 of the past 14 years.

A member of the C-SC IMA student chapter, Emily Gold, has also taken home the “gold.” She has been selected to receive the 2017 IMA Memorial Education Fund (MEF) Scholarship in the amount of $2,500. Students competing for the award must submit an application along with two faculty recommendations to support the nomination.

The purpose of the student chapter of the IMA is to bring a closer relationship among those interested in accounting, finance, and business. This organization will provide the opportunity to develop valuable contacts with those already successful in the above fields. The intent is to broaden the students’ understanding of the field and promote excellence in the academic performance with each student.
