Summer placements for Foster Grandparents will include Graceful Beginnings, Clinic Road Early Head Start, Veterans Elementary Summer School and Highland Elementary Summer School.

Foster Grandparents serving at Highland Elementary School were among those recognized at a May 11 dinner, an annual event of the Lewis County C-1 School District.

In order to promote and share information, several members and the director have attended various events, including the Senior Expo and the YMCA Older Adults Program in Hannibal. The director also attended the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) Convention in Springfield, Mo.

The Foster Grandparent Program will be represented at the Ewing Park Party and Car Show on Saturday, Aug. 12, and will be in the parade that at 11 a.m. Also, the advisory council will host an Ice Cream Social at the park until 6:30 p.m.. The goody bags for people entering the car show will include items marked Foster Grandparent Program.

The Foster Grandparent Recognition Luncheon was on June 19. The next meeting is scheduled at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 20, at the Douglass Community Services in Hannibal.
