A section of sidewalk was being removed on the south side of the street in the 100 block of Hill Street in Hannibal Wednesday morning.

A three-man crew with Cutting Edge Lawn and Landscape was busy working in the 100 block of Hill Street in Hannibal on Wednesday morning. Only instead of planting grass seed or removing weeds the workers were busy breaking into pieces and taking out a section of sidewalk on the south side of the street.

Work at the site began on Tuesday.

While a Board of Public Works truck was parked there for a short time Wednesday, it is not a city project.

Reportedly the water service to buildings in that block is being repaired for a private citizen.

The work exposed two areas beneath the north side of shop at 326 North Main St.
