A summer camp for youngsters 5 to 7 years old kicked off Monday morning in Hannibal. The camp will run through Friday.

Thanks to a partnership between the Bluff City Theater YETI (Youth Education Theater Initiative) and the Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department, nine youngsters between 5 and 7 years old had something fun to do on Monday morning.

“We’ve never really offered anything like this before,” said Mary Lynne Richards of the Parks Department, adding that F.A.C.T. will be donating books. “There’s a little bit of acting, but it’s more learning about your hometown, learning about the river. There is a little bit of crafts, a little bit of drama. It’s learning about nature, so it’s a different kind of summer camp.”

The week-long camp is led by Nature Educator Gale Rublee.
