Hannibal Free Public Library will celebrate Juneteenth on Monday, June 12, beginning at 6 p.m., with a free program provided by Faye Dant, executive director of Jim's Journey: The Huck Finn Freedom Center in Hannibal.

Hannibal Free Public Library will celebrate Juneteenth on Monday, June 12, beginning at 6 p.m., with a free program provided by Faye Dant, executive director of Jim’s Journey: The Huck Finn Freedom Center in Hannibal.

Dant’s presentation is entitled “The Civil War, Missouri and African Americans.” She will talk about local Civil War history, the soldiers, and local points of interest. Tying her presentation together will be a four-panel exhibit on tour from the Missouri State Archives, entitled “Divided Loyalties.” The public of all ages is invited to attend, and refreshments will be served.
