Hannibal artist and Hannibal Arts Council Program Coordinator, Brenda Beck Fisher, will be featured in a Pop Up exhibit at the Hannibal Arts Council (HAC) from Monday, May 22 through Thursday, June 1.

Hannibal artist and Hannibal Arts Council Program Coordinator, Brenda Beck Fisher, will be featured in a Pop Up exhibit at the Hannibal Arts Council (HAC) from Monday, May 22 through Thursday, June 1.

Her exhibit will grace the galleries between the Hannibal Regional Office’s Celebrate the Artist in You exhibit which ends on May 20 and the upcoming River Bluffs Paint Out plain air events June 3 through June 5 in Canton, Quincy and Hannibal.

Fisher has lived in Missouri most of her life and has been a full-time artist since 2001. She is a recipient of many local and national awards and is a signature member of the Missouri Watercolor Society, Southern Watercolor Society, Watercolor Society of Alabama and a juried member of Best of Missouri Hands. She has participated in national shows like the Missouri Internationals and the Biennial Chicago Exhibit.

Fisher’s work has been featured in local and state magazine publications and in Nashville Arts magazine. Her work was featured on Hannibal’s 35th, 36th and 37th Annual Autumn Historic Folklife Festival poster, a West Winery wine label and a Southgate Chili label. Her work won a spot in the first annual “Art in the Open” Billboard Contest.

Her watercolors are permanently displayed at Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois, Quincy City Hall, Quincy, Illinois, Hannibal Clinic, HNB Bank’s downtown branch and at the Hannibal Regional Medical Group Vision Institute and Hannibal Regional Hospital. In 2016, Fisher was commissioned to illustrate over 35 watercolors for display in the newly remodeled Becky Thatcher Museum in Hannibal. She has also illustrated the children’s books “My Tractor and Me,” by Mia Pennewell and “The White Horse,” by Eli Goodman, MD.

HAC gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Wednesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. The HAC gallery is closed on Tuesdays and Sundays.
