The Hannibal public school district's sports venues are receiving new scoreboards and video boards thanks to local donations.

Hannibal High School sports fans will soon notice big changes when they attend events.

At Porter Stadium, a 22-foot tall by 36-foot wide scoreboard is being installed. It will be approximately 10 feet wider than the previous scoreboard. according to Rich Stilley, business manager for the school district.

“In addition it will have 14-foot by 28-foot full matrix video board that will be utilized for a plethora of items and events that include athletics, activities and scholastic opportunities,” he said.

In addition, two new play clocks will be added at Porter, a video board in Korf, and new soccer, baseball and softball scoreboards at Veterans.

The upgrades and additions have been made possible by donations from the Hannibal Regional Healthcare System, Advance Physical Therapy, The Hannibal Booster Club and the Dr. E.A. Porter Fund.

“No taxpayer monies have been spent in the purchase of the scoreboards and video boards,” stressed Stilley.
