Michael Rucker led police on a high-speed chase on Saturday, May 6
On Saturday, May 6 at 5:53 p.m., Hannibal Police Officers with the Anti-Crime Enforcement Squad (ACES), observed a suspicious subject in the 300 block of South Griffith.
The subject, later identified as Michael Rucker, 30, of Mississippi, left the residence in a vehicle which he had allegedly stolen from Biloxi, Mississippi.
Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop when Rucker fled at a high rate of speed going the wrong way on Willow Street, according to information from the Hannibal Police Department.
Officers eventually went back to the 300 block of South Griffith where they observed Rucker behind the residence. Rucker allegedly broke a window and climbed into the residence where he remained as officers surrounded the house calling for him to exit. Eventually Rucker surrendered and was taken into custody. Rucker gave a false name and it was determined he was wanted for escape out of the state of Mississippi.
Rucker was transported to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained while climbing through the window.
