About 600 senior adults are expected for the 10th Senior Expo, which is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, April 20, at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center.

The theme is “It’s Not Too Late.” About 80 vendors will be at the expo.

New to the senior expo this year is a scavenger hunt for prizes. Some of the vendors have submitted questions about their business or program.

“It’s purely voluntary,” Stacey Nicholas of RSVP, said. “You will get your name in the raffle for different prizes if you fill out the scavenger hunt. It’s a way for vendors to be able to interact with the people better.”

Another change has been the addition to a can of soup for filling out the survey cards.

“General Mills has been generous to donate a can of soup to each participant,” Nicholas said. “General Mills is a longtime supporter of seniors and the Senior Expo.”

There are several door prizes available at the Senior Expo, and each participant will receive tickets so they can choose what prizes they would like to win.

Besides the traditional door prizes, there will be certain door prizes that are drawn by raffle. For example, each participant will be given five tickets and they can decide how to place those tickets for the gifts they are most interested in.

Senior Expo 2017 is sponsored by NEILS, Hannibal Parks & Recreation, RSVP at Douglass Community Services, NECAC and the Marion and Ralls County Health Departments.
