Two Hannibal women were recently selected for lead roles in Quincy Community Theatre's upcoming production of “The Dixie Swim Club.”

Twenty-five women from across the Tri-States gathered last month to audition for this comedy life, love, and the thing that truly keeps us afloat: friendship. Gale Rublee, standing middle, will play “Sheree,” the team captain desperately trying to maintain her “perfect” life while Stephanie Turner, seated left, will play “Lexie,” the pampered woman determined to hold onto her good looks longer than her husbands.

The Dixie Swim Club is the touching and hilarious story of five very different women who meet every August at a beach house to rekindle their relationship. Tickets are $20-22, on sale April 17. Performances are May 11-14 & 19-21, Thursday-Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. For tickets, to volunteer backstage, or to serve as an usher, visit 1qct.org or call the QCT Box Office, located in the Oakley-Lindsay Center, at (217) 222-3209.
