Hannibal Street Department personnel were beginning the process of relocating a curb in an Oakwood neighborhood on Monday.

The process of moving a curb further out into the street was beginning on Monday morning in an Oakwood neighborhood in Hannibal.

Street Department personnel were beginning the process of cutting pavement on New London Gravel Road, near Burlington. Because utilities are buried near where the pavement was being cut, caution was being taken in how deep the cut was being made.

When completed the curb will be moved approximately 3 feet further out into the street.

The project was being undertaken as a safety measure after some falls had occurred at the site.

It is estimated the project will require a week to complete.
