No one was injured, mobile home was used for storage

No one was injured, though a mobile home and its content were destroyed in a fire Saturday morning south of Hannibal.

Hannibal Rural Fire Chief Mike Dobson said firefighters responded to a mobile home fire around 9:49 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21. The mobile home was located off of Hydesburg Road about a mile north of Route HH.

The mobile home was unoccupied and was used for storage.

The structure and its contents was fully involved when firefighters arrived on scene. The mobile home was surrounded by other storage units and old vehicles. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the mobile home with no damage to the surrounding storage units or vehicles.

The mobile home and contents were a total loss, according to Dobson. The fire department was on the scene for about an hour and a half. The fire has been ruled suspicious and the Ralls County Sherriff’s Department is handling the investigation. There were no injuries at the scene.
