A total of 6,830 pounds of trash and tires was removed during Monday’s cleanup at Sodalis Nature Preserve in Hannibal, according to Edie Price of the Department of Public Works.

While spearheaded by Board of Public Works personnel, three members of the Street Department and representatives of the Stream Team also participated.

“Every year that the BPW does the cleanup we always have our (Street Department) guys help out one day on the cleanup,” said Price. “They loaded and hauled out and off all the trash that came out of the trails that day including all of the tires which was two full dump truck loads.”
