A call to action took the top spot on the front page of The Moberly Monitor-Index on Aug. 25, 2015.

The call to action took the form of a request to readers to submit information about themselves if they were veterans, in preparation for an upcoming special edition that was going to be all about veterans.

Randolph County Coroner Gerald Luntsford had kicked off the edition by bringing in memorabilia and information from his veteran uncle's life.

Also on the front page of the Monitor-Index a year ago today was another entry in the Randolph County Historical Society series on Moberly history leading up to the city's sesquicentennial. This entry included a photo of early Moberly firefighters posing with what was then a new fire engine.

In sports news a year ago today, Central Christian College of the Bible was searching for a new women's basketball coach.
